Property Consortium Drainage sponsors BIFM seminar in Bournemouth
29th October 2014
Property Consortium Drainage Ltd has sponsored a seminar organised by the British Institute of Facilities Management, the UK’s professional body for facilities managers, which took place on October 28 at Bournemouth University.
Jim Beaumont, Technical Director at Property Consortium Drainage, gave a presentation aimed at increasing delegates’ understanding of drainage and water services.
Starting from the history and first principles of drainage, his presentation outlined common causes of blockages, underlined the importance of maintaining access to drains and explained common techniques used to investigate and repair drainage and water problems.
Most importantly, Jim highlighted the business interruption risks of drainage maintenance underinvestment, advising facilities managers to take preventative measures, ensure that drains are regularly maintained and have in place an emergency and out-of-hours plan for when serious drainage and water problems do occur.
“It was great to be able to support this event and play a part in increasing awareness of drainage and water issues across the facilities management industry,” said Andy Taylor, Managing Director of Property Consortium Drainage.
